Life has been throwing us lots of curves over the past few years. The confluence of forces operating to bring about the shift in consciousness needed for continued survival on planet have been multiplying and intensifying.
What do the Nodal Shifts Mean?
The Nodal shifts into different zodiac signs and houses often bring up where we are most attached. Attachments help make us feel more secure, but can represent roadblocks to greater fulfillment in your life. The South Node often represents an established pattern, fixed attitude, or way of doing things that we’ve outgrown that is preventing maturation of the soul to new levels of manifestation and freedom.
The nodal shift to the axis of Taurus and Scorpio is amplifying matters. The North Node is moving into Taurus. While the South Node is moving into Scorpio.
Taurus’ natural placement in the zodiac is the 2nd house (ruled by Venus) and Scorpio’s natural placement is the 8th house (with new ruler Pluto and old ruler Mars). Taurus is an earth sign while Scorpio is a water sign. So, the earth and water elements are highlighted over the next 18 months until July 19, 2023 when the nodes will start to shift into Aries (North Node) and Libra (South Node). The final partial lunar eclipse in Taurus occurs on October 28, 2023.
Making Change
Embracing change is one of the most uncomfortable things for many of us to do. Letting go of the past and the things we’ve held dear multiplied by our human nature to hold onto the known, tried and true is inherently fraught with tension.
In astrology, the South node dredges up your past karmic patterns of action and unproductive habits. This is a time when you have the opportunity to face, resolve, release, and move on from the past. Now you can finish what you started in the past and pay off your karmic debts.
While the North node shows you which areas of life you need to embrace and focus on. These are the areas of life, if embraced, that will propel you forward toward much needed new growth.
On the zodiac wheel the Taurus/Scorpio axis is the axis representing personal and material values and pleasures while Scorpio is where you examine life most deeply to get to the truth. It’s also where you keep your deepest, darkest secrets hidden away from others.
2nd House Spotlight
The North Node is where you are headed while the South Node represents what has been easy and prevalent energy operating in your past that you now need to let go of as you move toward what the North Node represents.
Taurus is ruled by Venus and located in the 2nd house of the zodiac. The focus will be on what you personally value and love and want more of now.
Second house matters are related to your personal finances, material possessions, and the concept of what you value most. Your personal material security gets highlighted in this house. Your emotional needs being met, or unmet, are represented by this house. Those whom you value most in your life are often represented in this house.
What house is Taurus located in your astrology chart?
You want to locate where Taurus is located in your astrology chart as this will be a key significator for you personally as to what will be highlighted for you in life at this time. Things are set to change and improve for the better in this area of your life. Notice what planets are located here and if any of the eclipses will be conjunct them. If there is loss during a Taurus Lunar Eclipse this will ultimately be for the good as a lunar eclipse can effectively remove blocks to your greater fulfillment.
8th House Spotlight
The South Node will be in Scorpio. The old ruler of Scorpio is Mars, the planet of energy and action. Mars is the personal driver of your zodiac house. Representing drive, force, passion, personal magnetism and motivation. The new ruler of Scorpio is Pluto, the planet of regeneration and healing. Pluto dredges up material from the deepest part of your psyche and brings it to the light for regeneration and renewal. Scorpio is one of the most complicated and mysterious signs of the zodiac. It’s almost impossible to plumb the depths of a Scorpio. There is always much operating below the surface.
We all have Scorpio located somewhere in our chart. Do you have any planets, or points there? Will any of the Eclipses conjunct them?
We all also have an 8th House on the zodiac wheel. Do you have any planets, or points located in your 8th house?
All of these areas of your astrology chart are set for activation by the Eclipses. There may be extreme movement and changes happening over the next 18-19 months. Nothing ever goes back to what it was after an eclipse season.
Venus Conjunct Pluto Dates
December 11, 2021 at 25° Capricorn
December 24, 2021 at 25° Capricorn
March 3, 2022 at 27° Capricorn
Pluto rules diseases, physicians, research and the field of medicine. Venus (ruler of Taurus) will be conjunct Pluto in Capricorn three times this year as she will Retrograde over Pluto.
Fortunately, Capricorn is trine to Taurus and Sextile to Scorpio. This can indicate an ease to the depth of regeneration and healing taking place in your psyche. Though it really depends upon the kind of personal inner work you’ve done whether the change in your values and what you love needs to be radically regenerated and healed, or just a good dusting off of any cobwebs. Secondary aspects that Venus and Pluto are making to any of your personal planets, or points in your astrology chart can also play key roles in the kind affect Eclipses may have on your psyche.
The Venus Conjunct Pluto aspect can produce tremendous courage, strength and confidence. On the other hand it can excavate very vile and corrupt elements within the human psyche (lust for power, greed and sex crimes to name a few) and bring them up to the surface where they can be exposed to the light for integration and healing.
The conjunction of Venus to Pluto can also signal a change of heart about COVID-19 (or other diseases) with scientific discoveries that help us to overcome the disease in shorter order.
There are very auspicious and stabilizing alignments occurring starting from the end of December to the end of January (when Jupiter re-enters Pisces) through May and possibly through the summer. So, make the most of them.
The energies bode well for going with the flow and embracing the changes. Jupiter’s conjunction to Neptune mid-April at 23° brings tremendous good luck.
How the Nodes Work Together to Bring Change
The North Node helps you to do this work of letting go as new vistas beckon you to embrace them. We need to embrace new directions to resolve issues from our past.
Once you embrace the North Node you can unlock and free yourself from the past and perfectly align with life’s plan for you. You might say the North Node is your true north and compass for how to move forward in life. The North Node operates to free you from stagnation and getting stuck in the past.
The solution to your past problems represented by the South Node lies in embracing the opportunities represented by the North Node. Embracing the North Node challenges and opportunities brings rebirth to the South Node area of your life.
The first partial lunar eclipse in Taurus occurred on November 19, 2021 which was followed by the Sagittarius Total Solar Eclipse on December 4, 2021.
